About Iatesta Imports

Is located in the town of Veglie to the far south of Apulia (Puglia). Where the terrain consists of a flat peninsula, the climate is quite hot yet mediated by breezes that blow in from the Adriatic and Ionian seas. The traditional wines of this area are the powerful inky reds made from Primitivo, Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera but Apulia boast the largest array of varietals in the south.

Borgo Luce

www.vinicolaconsoli.it

Name: Borgo luce

Typology: Toscano rosso I.G.T.

Production: About 50.000 bottles

Grapevine: Pure 100% Tuscan Sangiovese

Area of cultivation: Heart of Tuscany

Vinification: "In rosso" the berries remain in contact with the juice during the alcoholic fermentation in order to extract tannins or to impart color contained in their skins to the wine. The pressing of the grapes follows.

Description: A great unblended Sangiovese is simply astonishing. After ten months of barrique is still incredibly fresh and pride of its own floral heritage, yet is the fruit core, the real deal. Helped by the oaking, has developed into a sour, hearty and balsamic blend that will never cease to surprise your palate with warm waves of licorice, pepper and violet all spiced with cinnamon stick perfectly mixed with a gentle tannin. The finish is cutting and persistent, actually making the wine subtle enough for tomato sauces, white and red meat and semi aged cheeses.

Serving suggestion: Should be served at 18-20C pouring ahead of time if possible.

Borgo Luce

Name: Borgo luce

Typology: Toscano rosso I.G.T.

Production: About 35.000 bottles

Grapevine: 85% Sangiovese 15% Petit Verdot

Area of cultivation: Heart of Tuscany

Vinification: "In rosso" or rather after the first pressing the grapes are conveyed to stainless steel tanks were they remain on the skins in order to extract all the substances contained in them. Subsequently the wine is aged in oak barrels from Slavonia for 8 months and in bottle for 6 months.

Description: Young black-red color with purple hints. The nose is lively and conveys pure black fruits with a brush of toasty oak. The palate is full and round and the soft tannins are perfect for partnering all kinds of savory pasta, meat and cheese dishes.

Serving suggestion: Should be served at 18-20C pouring ahead of time if possible.
